Hi all

Part two of sidecar TT diary

Here is a quick update on race one.

Qualified 15th, with a speed of just over 107,  we had got the handling a lot better with the help of Mike Capon from Shock Factory.

The race got underway in very windy and cloudy conditions. The bike ran well but the wind was on the nose over the mountain, (no use changing gearing as its nearly hitting the redline in top on other parts of the circuit.) . Still managed to pass a couple though.

Was having a great dice with Greg Lambert till he out braked himself going into the Nook.

Going up the mountain on the last lap you could smell the rain! And at Mountain Hut it started, by the Veranda it was getting slippery, and even more so with the new tar Bungalow, even after rolling it off!

At Windy the front let go as the rain got heavier, and we had the chair wheel in the grass. Luckily there aren’t any walls there! So just rolled it right off and just brought it home.

Ecstatic with our result of 12th. And a Bronze Replica

Tuesday practice cancelled, should get 1 lap today. And hopefully race on Friday

The weather was kind today, and we had our 1 lap practice/ qualifying.

We went out with a slightly different suspension set up to try. Not too bad but will revert to the settings we had for race 1.

We were a bit slow in the first sector, not sure why, the brake bias was a bit out so that may have been the cause. Greg Lambert passed us, then we managed to hang on to get a tow. And managed our fastest standing start lap of 106.9.

Several of the non-qualifiers managed to obtain a time to qualify for Race 2, which is great news.

Hopefully we will get another 1 lap session tomorrow, however the weather is iffy. Race day Friday is looking great though.

Been all over the bike checking everything, oil and filter change. Clean and adjust brakes etc.

Regards

Mick and Chrissie
