New South Wales young gun Tommy Edwards (Enemies Everywhere/Newcastle Supermoto/Alpinestars) claimed the GP Juniors Cup/160cc, whilst his New South Wales counterpart Zylas Bunting took home the GP Juniors 85cc, and Queenslander Harrison Voight won GP Juniors 70cc.

Edwards enjoyed a stellar season that saw him only lose a couple of races throughout the series, his experience and race craft that saw him race overseas was evident. Young John Lytras from Queensland kept Edwards on his toes and showed great promise throughout the series, it does make you wonder how good the likes of Tommy, John and many others could become in the next few years.

A rider to keep an eye out for in next seasons series will be Harry Khouri, after basically no race experience, he improved at every round. His efforts were rewarded with a guest ride on the AMCN R3 in the Supersport 300 support category of the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.

There were a few standout performances in both the GP Juniors Australia 70cc and 85cc classes that will surely gain in stature in the future. In the 70cc class young Harrison Voight made the cross over from dirt to road racing look easy after taking out the title in style from another dirt convert in Glenn Nelson, whilst fellow Queenslander Josh Hall rounded out the podium.

A real surprise packet was Cros Francis from NSW, in only his first ever road race he claimed the first race of the final round at Broadford. Unfortunately Cros had to head home early due to family commitments but look for bigger and better things from him next season.

In the 85cc class Zylas Bunting from NSW is another rider making the transition from dirt and like the other riders, making it look easy winning the class. Next year Zylas will be a regular in the GP Junior Cup, whilst Senna Agius finished second and has been selected for the Asia Talent Cup. Travis hall rounded out the podium after just edging out Luke Power.

GP Juniors Australia is extremely excited for the 2018 season after such a successful 2017 season with the new structure, 2018 is set to be bigger and better again.
