A get well message from Phillip Island as the rider makes steady progress in a Tokyo hospital recovering from a crash in last week’s Motegi round.

The crash happened midway through FP4 and de Angelis was airlifted to Dokkyo Hospital in Mibu where he underwent a CT scan and was diagnosed with lung contusions, fractured ribs, and, according to a MotoGP statement, “fractures to the T7-T8-T9 vertebrae, a body fracture to L4 and trasversal process fractures to T2, 4 and 8”.

He continues to make steady progress and is said to be conscious and in a stable condition. His family is by his side, with his father and brother joining him in Tokyo.

Miller To Switch MotoGP Teams in 2016

Meanwhile, Aussie young gun Jack Miller and his racing crew are set to switch MotoGP teams joining Honda’s Marc VDS Racing Team for the 2016 season.

Sponsorship troubles for his current LCR Honda team have given the Marc VDS squad the opportunity to snap up Miller and his crew, including Cristian Gabbarini, and expand their team to two riders. Marc VDS already has 2014 Moto2 World Champion Tito Rabat.
