Wakefield Park Raceway was treated to great racing from the Puma RV’s Round of the Australian F1 and F2 Sidecar Championship, part of the Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul Pirelli (ASBK).

Race Two

Race two of the Puma RV’s round of the F1 & F2 Sidecar championship had plenty of twists and turns as Bruce Collins / Peter De Angelis (F2 Honda LCR) took victory for F2.

Taking a well-deserved victory was Jeff Brown / Darren Sheldrick (APW M-cycles F1 Suzuki) for the F1 class.

The race was red flagged after four laps and restarted for three laps due to an accident. Trevor Love / Aimee Turner (Surfside Motorcycle Garage Honda CBR) were imposed a 10 second penalty due to a jump start.

There was a thrilling race to the finish but Collins / De Angelis would take the victory by .462s.

The fastest Lap went to Brown / Shieldrick, showcasing brilliant speed on the Suzuki powered machine.

Race Three

Race Three of Puma RV’s Round of the F1 & F2 Australian Sidecar Championship was the final session on track at Wakefield Park Raceway. The race was a much more conventional affair compared to the second.

In the start, all outfits featured were away quickly and cleanly off the line and through the turn one.

The F2 duo of Mick Alton / Chrissie Clancy (J&C Contracting F2 Suzuki LCR) chased down the F1 Howard Ford / Lee Menzies outfit as best they could, however they would not be able to maintain the pace compared to the leaders.

In the end, the top three would be made up of sidecar duos Ford / Menzies, Alton / Clancy and Brown / Sheldrick, who made a late charge, on the final lap to the podium.

Ford stating after the race; “It was great to battle with Mick and Chrissie, if your having a battle with those two you’re doing very well!”
