Link International, the Australian distributors for the Italian AGV brand in Australia has sent me a new AGV Veloce S in Rossi Ranch colours to test run. The helmet retails for $899.

The shell construction is a mix of carbon, aramid and fibreglass. The helmet comes in sizes ranging from small to XL, and the five sizes are made up of four different shell sizes.

The visor comes Pinlock ready and I you receive a Pinlock insert with the helmet. There is also tear-off poles on the visor. AGV also sent through a cool iridium visor which I have fitted. The patented Visor Lock System (VLS) is designed to reduce the risk of accidental opening in the event of an accident, and the visor is held on by a metal mechanism which is easy to use when changing visors.

Internally it has the emergency cheek-pad removal system, and a soft water-resistant neck roll to keep out the wind noise.

There’s plenty of ventilation points, and looking at the internals there is also deep airflow channels to help keep your head cool.

The next thing to do with the new AGV Veloce S helmet is to start wearing it. I’ll report back in a couple of months with a full product review pointing out the things I liked and the things I wasn’t too keen on. In the meantime, if you have any questions about this helmet, or if you own an AGV Veloce S and would like to share your experience, you can contact me at amcn@amcn.com.au
